2026-27 Week 1 Cap Projection

The following cap projection is based on information gathered from multiple sources: the NFLPA Public Salary Cap Report and Over the Cap.

The Projected Base Salary Cap is based on the midpoint between the projection at OTC and Spotrac. The Cap Carryover is the current cap space for the Jets from the NFLPA Public Salary Cap Report, and the Cap Charges are from the Jets team page on Over The Cap.

This is based on who’s on the following roster cuts:

Justin Fields (post-June 1, counts as $22 million during free agency): $1 million savings
Braiden McGregor: $6,668 dead cap charge, $1,075,000 savings
Tyler Baron: $240,162 dead cap charge, $844,892 savings

This cap projection is based on how much they will have to cover the following players after any roster cuts:

  • Signed free agents who make the 53-man roster

  • Signed draft picks that make the 53-man roster

  • Any dead cap charges they incur after the cuts

  • IR or PUP players during the season

Reminder:
There is non-public data, such as grievances and insurance payments, that affects the adjustments to the Team Adjusted Salary Cap. This number is a rough estimate that can’t include those things.
